Finding Strength with Healing Artist Gabi Torres

March 07, 2022

Expectant mama Gabi Torres (@gabwisewoman) is a healing artist who focuses on balancing a healthy life and pregnancy. She is passionate about all things wellness, meditation, yoga, and nourishing the soul. We’re shining a light on Gabi and her mindset during her pregnancy as she prepares for the arrival of her baby girl.

What is one thing you’ve learned about yourself throughout your pregnancy journey thus far?

Gabi Torres: One thing I have learned through my pregnancy about myself is the magnitude of my strength. When being faced with challenges I have been able to muster up a strength in me that I didn't know existed. When you begin to take into account the being within, it makes you so much stronger.

You are a wise woman with many roles. As a Yoga Instructor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Art Therapist, and Writer, how do you foresee incorporating your newest role as a mother in your work?

GT: I studied to be a Marriage and Family Therapist and Art Therapist and originally worked with children for years on purpose. As a Cancer mama, I always knew I wanted to have children and family and I figured that all that I learned through those disciplines would only help me become a better mother. Yoga, in the way I practice and teach it, is for slowing down, centering and feeling at peace within self. All these skills I practice and teach not only help me as a mother but will help me teach my daughter some very valuable skills that can assist her in life.

So we know you're a fan of our Stretch Mark Relief products. Which one of the three Stretch Mark Relief products is your favorite and why do you love it for your baby bump?

GT: I love to use the combination of the oil and the cream. I get weekly massages and my masseuse has been using it on my whole body as well. One thing I have loved most about the Matrescence products has been the smell and texture. Unique, earthy but also feminine, it has a distinct smell that I really began to crave at the end of the day. The Matrescence products have become a part of my daily ritual: I use the oil and butter on my entire body and belly to hydrate and I also then do some self-lymphatic massage with a tool on my legs to prevent water retention. I keep ordering these products because of the clean organic ingredients paired with luxurious textures, scents and presentation. It’s been a major go-to for me during this time!
