5 Minutes to Meditate
Restoring mental calm and clarity in just five minutes? It's possible! We've gathered a few quick pro tips to maximize your meditation time. Check them out now.
Make the time
Prioritizing YOU and your mental health through meditation is step one. Did you scroll through Insta today, or lose yourself in TikTok videos? (Guilty!!) Then you have the five minutes you need to meditate!
Minimize distractions
Meditation might work best when the kids are out of the house or sleeping, so you can be sure you won't have interruptions from any little voices. Put your phone on Do Not Disturb (don't turn it off, you might need the timer!), put the dog outside, and put away anything else that might distract you.
Get comfy
Meditation is usually done sitting on the floor or in a chair with your feet planted on the floor. You can meditate lying down too, as long as you don't fall asleep! the important thing is to find a spot where you won't be distracted by discomfort. This mom right here 👋 tries to get to the school pickup line early each day to have some quiet meditation time in the comfort and quiet of her vehicle.
Keep it short (if you need to!)
Start with just three minutes of meditation time, if that's all you can handle today. You'll be amazed how much more calm and focused you feel after those few minutes! Then, work up to longer periods of meditation time as you get more comfortable with the practice and how it fits into your daily life.
Don't overthink it
There is no right or wrong way to meditate, and thinking too much about ... well ... thinking is going to defeat the purpose of the meditation time. Focus on just being in the moment.
