Refining Motherhood with Dreena Whitfield

A mom with her second baby on the way, wife, and entrepreneur, Dreena Whitfield (@dreenawhitpr) is busy to say the least! She is the Founder and CEO of her integrated strategic communications agency, WHITPR where she and her team strive to tell authentic brand stories with high impact and success. We’re glad that we had the chance to learn more about Dreena’s pregnancies in terms of self-care and self-love, what she loves about her work, and what she values about her female friendships!

Congrats on your pregnancy! How did you practice self-care and self-love throughout your pregnancy with your first child, and how so for your current pregnancy?

Dreena Whitfield: During my first pregnancy, I really focused on enjoying the journey of being pregnant and taking in every precious moment. My self-care during that time consisted of constant skincare, a few prenatal massages, exercise, and eating healthy as much as I could. This second pregnancy comes at a moment of growth for me and my company WhitPR, so I'm focusing on reducing stress, relying on my team, and listening to my body. It's also been six years since my last pregnancy, and I'm in a completely different space (and age) in my life, so I'm taking the pregnancy day by day.

We admire that you are a mom, an expecting mom, a wife, and the Founder of your Public Relations Agency. What is your favorite aspect of your role as the Founder of WhitPR?

DW: As the Founder of WhitPR, my passion for storytelling and working with clients that I'm passionate about continues to be the favorite aspect of our work. We've been able to work with some truly amazing clients and projects, so every day, I'm just grateful to do the work that I love.

While we all know Valentine's Day is coming up, what about Galentine's Day? What do you celebrate most among your cherished female friendships?

DW: To have friendships that unconditionally love you, motivate you, challenge you, and support you are rare, so I'm extremely grateful for the authentic friendships that I have in my life. I'm a big flower person, so I'm always the friend who will send arrangements to celebrate milestones for my friends, whether big or small. The last two years have proven the immense need to cherish and celebrate your loved ones, and I've always been a big believer in that.
